New Adelaide Riverbank app as works begin on $900m Festival Plaza redevelopment
5 December 2016
Work has begun to transform the Adelaide Festival Plaza into a world-class destination at the heart of the Adelaide Riverbank with the construction of new access to the Riverbank Footbridge underway.
It coincides with the launch of a new smartphone app to help people navigate the precinct during construction and also discover all the great events and activities occurring around the precinct.
The northern doors of the Adelaide Railway Station will close from 6 December for approximately 12 months as part of the first stage of the redevelopment. The Adelaide Festival Centre car park will close from 30 December to allow for the construction of the new car park
Maps will be on display in key locations throughout the precinct to help people find their way. There will be volunteers in and around Adelaide Railway Station during key major events to help direct people, and information pods will be installed in the concourse with information and further details for commuters
The Riverbank Footbridge will remain open during the redevelopment however access to the bridge will be reduced to ensure the safe passage of pedestrians.
We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation during this important project and apologise advance for any inconvenience.
