DPTI Media Alert - Gorge Road Closure

CONNECT - Message from the Chief Executive

27 September 2016

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) wishes to advise that due to predicted weather conditions Gorge Road will be closed late this afternoon (Tuesday 27 September) between Playford Bridge and Torrens Hill Road, with an anticipated re-opening in the afternoon of Friday 30 September 2016.

This closure is a precautionary measure in the event that the predicted extraordinary rain may lead to unexpected rock falls.

A detour will be in place via Lower North East Road, North East Road, and Tippet Road to access Cudlee Creek businesses and attractions.

DPTI wish to thank motorists as well as local businesses and residents for their patience during this time.

Please note that DPTI is continuing its programme to reduce the potential for rock falls on Gorge Road in more favourable weather.
