DPTI Media Alert - Changes to Traffic at Main South Road/Sturt Road Intersection 12-15 August 2016

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) advises motorists that there will be significant lane restrictions on the approaches to the Main South Road intersection with Sturt Road, Bedford Park, from 8pm on Friday 12 August 2016 to 6.00 am on Monday 15 August 2016 for trunk water main relocation works, as part of the Darlington Upgrade Project.
The works include trenching, pipe installation, backfilling and asphalt reinstatement.
There will be a reduction from four lanes to two lanes in both directions on Main South Road through the Sturt Road intersection. There will be no left turn from Main South Road onto Sturt Road for southbound traffic. Left turning traffic will be required to use Sutton Road.
No right turns will be permitted into and out of Mimosa Terrace from Main South Road.
Motorists and road users are requested to take extra care when workers are on site and observe traffic signage and speed and lane restrictions when travelling through the area. A 40 km/h speed restriction will be in place
