DPTI Media Alert – Temporary disruption to Tailem Bend ferry
8 August 2016
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) advises there will be a temporary interruption to the Tailem Bend ferry service on Wednesday 10 August, 2016 (weather permitting).
The ferry service will not be operating between 9am and 3pm. The disruption is due to DPTI replacing the existing wooden hull Tailem Bend ferry with the Ex-Narrung steel-hulled ferry.
Please note that as a result of this changeover the Tailem Bend ferry will become fully operational and the previous 12 tonne weight restriction will no longer apply.
Alternative crossings will be:
- Upstream: Swanport Bridge
- Downstream: Wellington Ferry
DPTI thanks ferry users for their patience.
