Connecting students with work experience
1 July 2016
High school students studying building and construction have gained valuable work experience helping to assemble site offices along Port Wakefield Road, as part of the $985m Northern Connector project.
The work experience program, developed by Ausco Modular and St Patrick’s Technical College, has given the northern suburbs students a unique opportunity to be part of an important and large scale project such as the Northern Connector, and gain practical skills in their chosen trade.
The students have shown a real willingness to learn and they’ve already completed some fantastic work, helping with the lifting in of the buildings and showing full awareness of all safety procedures.
Well done to the students and all involved – this is another great example of engagement with community partners in DPTI projects.
