Repairs underway after storm damage to Henley Beach jetty
11 May 2016
Work is being carried out to repair the Henley Beach jetty which was extensively damaged by Monday night’s severe storm.
The jetty will remain closed for at least a week after high tides and strong winds battered the structure, dislodging parts of the deck.
The storm forced the closure of jetties across the metropolitan coastline as it bore down on Adelaide on Monday.
All other metropolitan jetties have since re-opened after being inspected by engineers.
Monday’s storm also caused significant damage to other jetties in regional areas including at Port Germein and Moonta Bay.
The Henley Beach jetty repairs are expected to cost about $30,000 and are being undertaken by a local contractor based at Port Adelaide.
