Construction graduates kick start early works on the Northern Connector Project

6 May 2016

Exciting training and employment opportunities have been created from the Bolivar roundabout construction in Adelaide’s north.

As an ‘early works’ component of the Northern Connector Project, disadvantaged job seekers and the long term unemployed have been given the opportunity to complete training on a live construction site and graduate with a Certificate II in Construction.

Trainees commenced work on the installation of a roundabout at the intersection of the realigned Kings and Bolivar Roads in Paralowie – which will be an important feeder route for the Northern Connector once the six-lane motorway is complete.

The training program has given graduates exceptional experience in the construction industry, with six participants graduating from the program with ongoing employment.

As work continues on the Northern Connector more programs will be provide further training and job opportunities for local residents in Adelaide.
