CONNECT - Message from the Chief Executive

26 April 2016

Public transport users are advised that night works will be conducted on the Seaford rail line from Tuesday 3 May to Thursday 12 May 2016.

Each evening during this period, the last scheduled rail service to and from Adelaide will be replaced with substitute bus services for essential rail maintenance works to occur.

Works will be conducted between Mile End Station and Noarlunga Station from 11pm to 5am Monday to Friday and from 11pm to 6am Saturday and Sunday.

Tamping works will be conducted which involves the lifting and aligning of the track to improve the ride quality for passengers utilising the Seaford service.

The maintenance works will be put on hold and scheduled rail services will operate on Sunday 8 May to cater for passengers wishing to travel home from the AFL match at Adelaide Oval.

Substitute bus services will be in place during the temporary Seaford line closure. Please call the Adelaide Metro InfoLine on 1300 311 108 or visit

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) thanks public transport users and motorists for their patience while these works are undertaken.
