Reminder about temporary closures on Seaford rail line
30 December 2015
There will be full and partial rail closures on the Seaford rail line between New Years and Australia Day to undertake essential works.
The full length of the Seaford line will be closed for two full days on January 2 and 3.
There will be a partial line closure between Brighton and Seaford from January 4 to 25, reopening on the 26 January (Australia Day).
The closures are timed to coincide with quieter periods on the rail network with substitute buses replacing all services.
The works are to replace catenary wire.
This work will ensure the long-term usage of the electrified Seaford line.
During the full closures substitute buses will be available at all stations. During the partial closure from the 4 – 25 January trains will continue to run between Brighton and the city with substitute buses running between Seaford and Brighton.
There will be signage and staff in place directing the public to the appropriate substitute buses to help lessen the inconvenience to passengers.
Full details of the closures will be available at www.adelaidemetro.com.au or call the Adelaide Metro Infoline on 1300 311 108 (7 am to 8 pm daily).
