Heysen Tunnels routine maintenance works

Motorists are advised of wall cleaning and essential safety maintenance of electrical systems, including the ventilation, lighting, fire detection and emergency management systems, which will require the partial closure of the Heysen Tunnels.
Every effort is made to reduce the impact on motorists by conducting these work during off peak times.
Associated traffic restrictions are as follows:
Wednesday, 4 November
- Crafers bound tunnel lane restrictions (closure of one lane) from 8.30 am until 4.00 pm.
- Adelaide bound tunnel lane restrictions (closure of one lane) from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm
Required for general electrical maintenance and testing of safety systems.
Adelaide bound Traffic – Friday, 6 November and Saturday, 7 November.
Adelaide bound traffic will be detoured via Eagle on the Hill from 7:00 pm Friday, 6 November until 8:00 am Saturday, 7 November
Crafers Bound Traffic – Friday, 6 November and Saturday, 7 November
- Crafers bound traffic will be diverted into one lane of the Adelaide bound tunnel from 9:30 pm on Friday, 6 November to 8:00 am Saturday, 7 November.
Emergency vehicles will have access to the tunnels at all times.
Speed restrictions will be in place at this location while the maintenance work is undertaken.
