Learn about boating safety at the Boat and Fishing Show
20 October 2015
Department of Planning Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) Marine Safety Officers will again provide safety information and advice to boaters at the "Respecting our waters" stand on site J21 at the SA Boat and Fishing show, Wayville from October 23 - 25.
Copies of helpful and informative booklets and DVDs will be available, and information presentations will be conducted at the adjacent "Marine Safety" stage on Saturday and Sunday at 10 am and 2 pm.
Boat operators licence testing will also be available immediately following each stage presentation. Boaters are strongly encouraged to study before the day, by reading the SA Recreational Boating Handbook available at Service SA or online at www.ondeck.sa.gov.au.
A practice exam is available online, and will also be available at kiosks at the stand during the show for candidates to refresh before sitting for the exam.
Fees for the exam are payable at the SA Sea rescue Squadron display, and will be set at $35, or $19 for a special permit exam for those between 12 and 15 years of age.
