Update: Train Driver Industrial Action

23 June 2015

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure reminds Adelaide University, Flinders University and University of South Australia students sitting exams next week that industrial action including a four-hour work stoppage between 10am and 2pm will be undertaken that will impact the running of all train services on Monday, 29 June 2015.

Students who need to attend Wayville Pavilion at Adelaide Showgrounds or Flinders University campus for exams starting at 9am, 9.20am, 1.50pm and 2pm on Monday 29 June are advised to plan ahead and seek alternative methods of transport.

Bus – several bus routes service the Showground on Goodwood Road. Bus stops 1 or 2 on Goodwood Road are most convenient to the Adelaide Showground. Students should allow 15 minutes for the bus trip between the Showground and the City.

Refer to www.adelaidemetro.com.au for timetable information.

A dedicated shuttle bus for students will operate between Adelaide Showgrounds and Adelaide Railway Station between 11.30am to 2pm.

Tram – departs Adelaide from Victoria Square & outside the Adelaide Railway Station every 20 minutes, with the journey taking five minutes to reach Goodwood Road Station, Stop 3. It is then a five-minute walk from the tram stop to the Adelaide Showground.

For timetable information visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au. The tram service is recommended for students with accessible transport needs.
