Stage 4 works have commenced on Greenhill Road Median Safety Improvements Project
7 May 2015
Construction works have commenced on stage four of the Greenhill Road Median Safety Improvements Project.
These works form the final stage of median safety improvements along Greenhill Road which will improve safety for all road users, including pedestrians and cyclists.
The works for stage four will be carried-out between George Street/Hutt Road intersection and Glen Osmond Road. They include:
- modifying the traffic signals at the intersection with George Street/Hutt Road to
incorporate right turn signal arrows and cyclist push buttons;
- increasing the capacity of the right turn lane into Hutt Road; and
- increasing the capacity of the right turn lanes on the western approach to Glen Osmond Road
Speed and lane restrictions will be in place during construction and motorists are asked to use extra caution when workers are on site.
Construction work will occur during the day outside of peak traffic hours, between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm Monday to Friday.
Work is expected to be complete by the end of June 2015, weather permitting.
These works are funded $520,000 from the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program, as part of a commitment to build safer roads and a stronger economy.
Greenhill Road, Stages one, two and three between Goodwood Road and George/Hutt Road intersection will be completed next week.
