1,400 clients trained in new land info system
12 March 2015
Access to information on all of the state’s property titles – which are held by DPTI - will improve when a new search system goes live on April 27.
The new South Australian Integrated Land Information System (SAILIS) will replace the 30-year-old system currently used to offer a more reliable and faster service.
The system offers the ability to search for property details such as the title owner, property boundaries, size and value.
It can be accessed by the general public, although it is typically used by up to 2,000 businesses, which include conveyancers, lawyers and land brokers.
To ensure a seamless transition to the new system, a team of DPTI staff members have conducted training sessions for over 1,400 clients to date.
The property industry is a significant contributor to the economy of the state and depends heavily on the information provided through the land administration system.
Feedback has been extremely positive with many professionals taking the time to write to congratulate the department on the new system.
