Notice to Mariners No 4 of 2022 (Temporary)

SOUTH AUSTRALIA – GULF ST VINCENT – HORSESHOE REEF – FLOATING RESEARCH STRUCTURE

Mariners are advised that a two metre square floating research structure has been deployed near O’Sullivans Beach. The structure is located approximately 700 metres from shore in approximate WGS84 position 35° 07’ 44.38” S, 138° 27’ 41.81” E, and has a 1.2m bright yellow pole with a yellow light Fl Y (3) 5s, range 1.5 nautical mile.  The structure will be deployed for approximately 36 months.

Anchoring should be avoided to reduce the risk of damaging the equipment deployed. Mariners are advised to navigate with caution in the area.
