Spot the Mo this Movember
Monday, 1 November 2021
Twenty Adelaide Metro buses and trams – and four marine safety boats – will be sporting mos throughout Movember, in support of men’s health.
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport has teamed up with the Movember Foundation for the initiative, to raise awareness for the cause and prompt South Australians to ask ‘where’s the mo?’
Keep an eye out for some very well-groomed trams, dapper buses and vessels that have had a furry facelift and post a photo of it to social media with the hashtag #AdelaideMetMo or #MarineMo.
Remember to stay on the footpath or platform behind the white line when taking photos and always wear a lifejacket when boating.
Can you spot all the mos?
Unlike some of the moustaches around Adelaide throughout November, mental health struggles may not always be easily seen.
Whether you spot the Rock Star, the Trucker, the Connoisseur or even a fake mo, this initiative is far bigger than a fashion statement.
The Movember campaign is a leading charity changing the face of men’s health by tackling prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention through various fundraising initiatives.
Since 2003, the Movember movement has spread around the globe and has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects. It encourages people to reach out to their mates and ask them how they are travelling and really listen to them.
Growing a mo can inspire donations, conversations and real change. Whatever you grow, however you mo, your dough could save a bro.
The Department’s Movember partnership began in 2018 with one moustache on a tram and continues to grow with each whisker of support from the public, this year introducing marine mos.
