Ride with Adelaide Metro as festival season comes to life

Thursday, 20 February 2025

Getting to Adelaide’s biggest festivals has never been easier with Adelaide Metro ramping up services to make public transport the best way to ride into the action.

As the state transforms into a global cultural hub with iconic events like Adelaide Fringe, Adelaide Festival, WOMADelaide and East End Unleashed, Adelaide Metro will run extra bus and tram services from tomorrow until Saturday, 22 March to provide safe and convenient travel.

Leave the car at home and zip into the East End onboard the O-Bahn, with 20 extra trips running each weekend during the Fringe.

The free ADLOOP CBD tram loop service will also run each Friday and Saturday night – starting on opening night of the Fringe through to 22 March and on Sunday, 9 March for the Adelaide Cup long weekend.

Looping through the north, east and south ends of the city, ADLOOP will stop at key festival venues like Adelaide Botanic Gardens and the Pioneer Women’s Garden – home to Writers’ Week from 1-6 March.

A temporary taxi rank between Botanic Road and Rundle Road and Rundle Road and Grenfell Street will operate from 15 February to 23 March, making it easier for all festivalgoers to get around.

Adelaide Metro also has music lovers covered, with a dedicated bus shuttle running during the four-day WOMADelaide festival. The shuttle will transport passengers to and from Botanic Park along Frome Road, ensuring an easy connection to one of the world’s most iconic music and cultural festivals.

Passengers are encouraged to use their metroCARD, especially if transferring between services or travelling on concession fares. Tap and Pay tickets also offer a convenient alternative for infrequent travellers on a full adult fare.

Start your festival adventure the hassle-free way, plan your trip with Adelaide Metro’s journey planner or check real-time schedules at www.adelaidemetro.com.au.

Road closures and detours will be in place each weekend of the festival season. Keep up to date with road closures and detours at www.trafficsa.gov.au.
