Temporary partial closure on the Seaford rail line for escalator installation
Thursday, 29 February 2024
The Seaford rail line will be partially closed over the March long-weekend to install new escalators at Noarlunga Railway Station.
From 9pm Friday, 8 March to last service Monday, 11 March train services will not be running between Brighton and Seaford Railway Stations.
Substitute bus services will operate all stops between these stations to connect passengers with trains running between Brighton and Adelaide railway stations.
Additional replacement bus services will also run each night to cater for passengers heading to and from events including the Adelaide Fringe Festival, WOMADelaide and Adelaide Cup.
Seaford rail line services will resume operating as normal from first service on Tuesday, 12 March.
This temporary closure is necessary to install new escalators at the Noarlunga Railway Station and cannot be safely undertaken with trains operating in the Seaford rail corridor.
The escalators will be tested and commissioned over the coming weeks, and are expected to become operational by early April.
These works are part of broader upgrades to Noarlunga Railway Station, including lighting and security improvements.
The Department apologises for the inconvenience of this closure and thanks commuters for their patience while these important works are undertaken.
