Smooth Landing for Quorn Aerodrome Sealing Project
Friday, 11 August 2023
Connectivity and emergency services access have been improved for the regional community of Quorn in the Flinders Ranges, following the completion of sealing works at Quorn Aerodrome.
The works, which included sealing and line marking of the Quorn Aerodrome, were undertaken by the Flinders Ranges Council and supported by grant funding from the Australian and South Australian governments.
The Australian Government contributed $231,600 to the project through the second round of its Regional Airports Program and the South Australian Government provided $100,000 through its Support Regional Aviation Program.
The Flinders Ranges Council contributed the balance of project expenditure, which was in excess of $300,000.
The project has enabled safe, all-weather and 24-hour access to Quorn for emergency services as well as private and commercial flight operators.
