Safer crossings for cyclists and pedestrians on Glynburn Road
Wednesday, 30 November 2022
A new bicycle and pedestrian actuated (push button) crossing has been activated on Glynburn Road between Beulah Road and Cuthero Terrace, Kensington Park, improving safety and connectivity for pedestrians and for cyclists on the Norwood-Magill Bikeway.
The crossing was activated on Monday, 28 November by the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Tom Koutsantonis.
Works that were undertaken as part of the project include:
- installation of traffic signals to facilitate a controlled crossing with push buttons for pedestrians and cyclists;
- footpath upgrades on both sides of Glynburn Road on the approaches to the crossing; and
- bicycle turning lane provisions on Beulah Road and Cuthero Terrace to improve access to the crossing.
The project was funded by the South Australian Government as part of the Inner and Middle Adelaide Cycling Improvements Program.
