Registrar-General's statutory instruments

Under the Real Property Act 1886, the Registrar-General has the power to introduce Statutory Instruments. The Registrar-General's Statutory Instruments set out some specific legal requirements for dealing with land in South Australia.

Verification of Authority

Operating Requirements

Under section 22 of the Electronic Conveyancing National Law (South Australia) Act 2013 the Registrar-General has promulgated Operating Requirements for South Australia, based on the Model Operating Requirements developed by the Australian Registrars’ National Electronic Conveyancing Council (ARNECC) .  For more information click here

Participation Rules

Under section 23 of the Electronic Conveyancing National Law (South Australia) Act 2013 the Registrar-General has promulgated Participation Rules for South Australia, based upon the Model Participation Rules developed by Australian Registrar’s National Electronic Conveyancing Council (ARNECC). Waivers

Client Authorisation

A party to a real property transaction may authorise a registered conveyancer or legal practitioner to act on their behalf. A client authorisation form is used for this purpose. For more information click here.

Plan Presentation Guidelines

The Plan Presentation Guidelines (PPG) describes the specific requirements for cadastral plans lodged for acceptance in the Lands Titles Office of South Australia. The PPG forms part of the requirements of the Real Property Act 1886 (RPA). The RPA together with the Crown Land Management Act 2009, Community Titles Act 1996 and other associated acts govern the intent of plans lodged.
