About us

The Valuer-General is an independent statutory officer accountable to Parliament. She maintains accountability and ownership over the valuation roll.

The Valuer-General maintains a relationship with her statutory clients who utilise her valuations and manages all associated enquiries, objections and ongoing investigations.

The role of the Office of the Valuer-General is to provide fair and equitable valuations for properties in South Australia in accordance with the Valuation of Land Act 1971 and delivering service excellence.

The Office of the Valuer-General assists the Valuer-General in providing regulatory oversight and management of the various services undertaken by the service provider (Land Services SA), to ensure the integrity of the valuation roll, service delivery and the independence of the Valuer-General.

The Office of the Valuer-General comprises of four key functions employing 18 staff including:
