Main South Road intersection with Candy Road/Lander Road improvements
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is improving safety and connectivity in the area by upgrading the intersection at Main South Road, Candy Road and Lander Road, O’Halloran Hill.
These improvements will reduce the risk of rear end and right turn crashes and provide safer vehicle movements at the junction. Safety for pedestrians and cyclists will be improved by provision of crossings at the signals.
The upgrade will allow for right turn movements between Main South Road and Candy Road, and through movements between Candy Road and Lander Road. This project will provide improved connectivity in the area, particularly between Happy Valley and Hallett Cove.
To help safeguard the DPTI project team and the community, we have implemented measures to manage the risks of, and our response to, contracting COVID-19.
These include but are not limited to, increased personal hygiene practices and limiting face-to-face contact.
The project team will provide construction updates and work notifications via social media, letterbox drops, emails and the Project website. We are also available to speak via telephone (1300 794 880).
There will be no planned community events or information sessions until further notice.
Construction commenced in October 2019 and is expected to be complete in May 2020, weather permitting.
This $5.2 million project has been funded by the South Australian Government to deliver an election commitment.
