Stuart Highway Freight Highway Upgrade Program
Funding has been allocated for improvements on Stuart Highway between SA/NT border and Port Augusta. The upgrades will improve freight productivity by reducing travel times for the delivery of goods to businesses and the community, as well as reducing operating costs for commercial vehicles.
Extending approximately 2700km between Port Augusta and Darwin, the Stuart Highway is an important arterial road for freight and tourism, providing access to major regional centres within South Australia, and is the primary link between Adelaide and Darwin.
