Dukes Highway Freight Highway Upgrade Program

The Australian and South Australian governments have committed $500 million (80:20) over 10 years to improve the safety and reliability of national freight routes.

The Dukes Highway is a vital transport corridor for freight and upgrades will improve freight productivity by reducing travel times for the delivery of goods to businesses and the community, as well as reducing operating costs for commercial vehicles.

From Monday 2 December until early February 2025 we will be carrying out a total of 23 km of resurfacing work on the Dukes Highway at various locations between Tailem Bend and Bordertown. These improvements will enhance the road surface and increase safety for all road users.  For more information please view the latest works notice.
