CONNECT - Message from the Chief Executive

The health and safety of rail staff has also been a focal point of late, with a run of serious incidents on the train network. There are many trauma support mechanisms available. One of them is the new RailRes TrackSAFE app which can be downloaded from your phone’s app store for free. It is already receiving extremely positive reviews.

Today marks the start of National Reconciliation Week, a time to celebrate and build on the respectful relationships shared by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other Australians. The department hosted a table at a special breakfast this morning and other events are being held over coming days.

Big steps forward for three key projects in the past week:  the Adelaide Festival Plaza redevelopment, the planned Government office building at the Port and the proposed AdeLINK tram network. It reflects the vital role our department plays in building our communities and planning for the future.

The Ripples Community Arts group of Lochiel Park, Campbelltown has created a wonderful mosaic tribute to our public transport system. Have a look at their handiwork on their facebook page.

On the road to Rio, another South Australian has scored their spot in the Olympics. Young gun Jack Rossiter will compete in the 10m air rifle event. It’s his first Games and we wish him and all of our athletes well.

Have a good weekend
