KEY FACTS:

490 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2018, compared with 537 during 2017.

43 people have been seriously injured in OCTOBER 2018.

23 serious injuries were males and 20 were females.

25 were vehicle occupants, 10 were motorcycle riders, 4 were cyclists and 4 were pedestrians.

In OCTOBER 2018, there were 21 serious injuries in the country and 22 in Adelaide.

Of the 36 serious injury crashes in OCTOBER 2018, 21 involved a single vehicle and 15 involved more than one vehicle.
32 crashes involved a single serious injury and 4 involved multiple serious injuries.
