KEY FACTS:

54 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2019, compared with 42 during 2018.

54 people have been seriously injured in JANUARY 2019.

40 serious injuries were males and 14 were females.

23 were vehicle occupants, 17 were motorcycle riders, 7 were cyclists and 7 were pedestrians.

In JANUARY 2019, there were 23 serious injuries in the country and 31 in Adelaide.

Of the 47 serious injury crashes in JANUARY 2019, 27 involved a single vehicle and 20 involved more than one vehicle.
43 crashes involved a single serious injury and 4 involved multiple serious injuries.
