KEY FACTS:

239 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2018, compared with 285 during 2017.

42 people have been seriously injured in MAY 2018.

25 serious injuries were males and 17 were females.

28 were vehicle occupants, 7 were motorcycle riders, 5 were pedestrians and 2 were cyclists.

In MAY 2018, there were 24 serious injuries in the country and 18 in Adelaide.

Of the 36 serious injury crashes in MAY 2018, 22 involved a single vehicle and 14 involved more than one vehicle.
31 crashes involved a single serious injury and 5 involved multiple serious injuries.
