KEY FACTS:

300 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2016, compared with 317 during 2015.

64 people have been seriously injured in MAY 2016.

32 serious injuries were males and 32 were females.

49 were vehicle occupants, 7 were motorcycle riders, 6 were cyclists and 2 were pedestrians.

In MAY 2016, there were 31 serious injuries in the country and 33 in Adelaide.

Of the 53 serious injury crashes in MAY 2016, 26 involved a single vehicle and 27 involved more than one vehicle.
47 crashes involved a single serious injury and 6 involved multiple serious injuries.
