KEY FACTS:

55 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2016, compared with 56 during 2015.

55 people have been seriously injured in JANUARY 2016.

31 serious injuries were males and 24 were females.

43 were vehicle occupants, 7 were cyclists, 3 were motorcycle riders and 2 were pedestrians.

In JANUARY 2016, there were 29 serious injuries in the country and 26 in Adelaide.

Of the 41 serious injury crashes in JANUARY 2016, 21 involved a single vehicle and 20 involved more than one vehicle.
35 crashes involved a single serious injury and 6 involved multiple serious injuries.
