KEY FACTS:

172 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2017, compared with 245 during 2016.

35 people have been seriously injured in APRIL 2017.

22 serious injuries were males and 13 were females.

24 were vehicle occupants, 8 were motorcycle riders, 2 were pedestrians and 1 was a cyclist.

In APRIL 2017, there were 20 serious injuries in the country and 15 in Adelaide.

Of the 30 serious injury crashes in APRIL 2017, 16 involved a single vehicle and 14 involved more than one vehicle.
28 crashes involved a single serious injury and 2 involved multiple serious injuries.
