ROAD CRASH SERIOUS INJURIES IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA

KEY FACTS:

257 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2012, compared with 322 during 2011.

72 people have been seriously injured in APRIL 2012.

52 serious injuries were males and 20 were females.

39 were vehicle occupants, 14 were cyclists, 12 were motorcycle riders and 7 were pedestrians.

In APRIL 2012, there were 31 serious injuries in the country and 41 in Adelaide.

Of the 63 serious injury crashes in APRIL 2012, 33 involved a single vehicle and 30 involved more than one vehicle.
58 crashes involved a single serious injury and 5 involved multiple serious injuries.
