National Walk Safely to School Day – Friday 18 May
Now in its 19th year, National Walk Safely to School Day encourages all primary school aged children to walk and travel safely to school.
The event seeks to promote road safety, health, public transport and the environment.
The Way2Go program encourages everyone to get involved by not only walking on the 18th of May but as often as possible. Why not practise the route to school before then so you are ready to go on the day! If you live a long way from school then try riding a bike or scooter or driving and parking 10 minutes away and walking from there.
Many schools run events linked to this day including providing healthy breakfasts. Check whether your child’s school is involved.
