Extreme heat forecast for Adelaide

With the State currently experiencing extreme heat, Adelaide Metro passengers are reminded to closely monitor our website for any potential effects on services.

Prolonged exposure to extreme heat can place the rail (train and tram) network infrastructure under stress. Passengers should be aware that there may be speed reductions on some services to reduce this stress.

As the Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a maximum of 42 degrees today and 39 degrees Friday 10 February 2017, passengers should be prepared for the potential for public transport services to be affected.

All public transport passengers are advised to plan ahead and take care when travelling during periods of extreme heat. Keep to shaded areas while waiting for buses, trains or trams, drink plenty of water and give consideration to vulnerable passengers including the elderly.

While Adelaide Metro will strive to limit any delays or inconvenience to services by the extreme heat, commuters are encouraged to use Adelaide Metro’s information services.
