DPTI Media Alert – Traffic restrictions at the Main South Road Intersection with Sturt Road

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) advises motorists that there will be significant lane restrictions on the approaches to the Main South Road intersection with Sturt Road from 8pm on Friday 24 June 2016 to 6.00 am on Monday 27 June 2016 for stage four of the trunk water main relocation works, as part of the Darlington Upgrade Project.

There will be a reduction from four lanes to two lanes in both directions on Main South Road and from two lanes to one lane on Sturt Road, also in both directions, at the Main South Road intersection with Sturt Road.

The trunk water main relocation works are being undertaken over eight stages, and include trenching, pipe installation, backfilling and asphalt reinstatement.

Motorists and road users are requested to take extra care when workers are on site and observe traffic signage and speed and lane restrictions when travelling through the area. A 40 km/h speed restriction will be in place.
