Asbestos excavations this weekend along Festival Drive

27 March 2015
As part of the Adelaide Convention Centre expansion works, a small quantity of asbestos is being removed from a site on the Riverbank lawn.
The location is near the entry gate to the Convention Centre project site, at the rowing club shed end.
The material will be removed on Friday 27 March and possibly also Saturday 28 March between 7am and 5pm.
The removal is being carried out according to regulatory requirements relating to asbestos (including the use of air monitoring, dust controls and exclusion of pedestrians and vehicles from that gateway).
A section of the pathway through this area will be closed during this time. Pedestrians will be offered alternative routes.
All of the affected rowing clubs have been contacted directly to advise them of the matter and to advise that they won’t be able to use the pathway during these times to take boat trailers in or out.
The department apologises for any inconvenience caused during this time.
