New Adelaide 500 road safety campaign targets copy-cat drivers

Wednesday, 23 November 2022

The State Government is partnering with the Get Home Safe Foundation and Supercar driver Todd Hazelwood to call on VALO Adelaide 500 racegoers to stay safe on the road as the popular event returns to city streets.

The State Government’s THINK! Road Safety Partnerships program has joined the Get Home Safe Foundation (GHSF) to produce a road safety campaign aimed at reducing the number and severity of road crashes during the race period.

The campaign 'What Happens On The Track, Stays On The Track. Keep It Off The Road' is launched ahead of the return of the VALO Adelaide 500 and is headed by Adelaide's hometown Supercar hero Todd Hazelwood.

As the Adelaide 500 returns for the first time in three years from 1-4 December this year, GHSF director Darren Davis, ambassador Hazelwood and crash survivor Eli Murn are reminding race enthusiasts to take care on the roads and to leave the risk taking to the professionals

A key focus of the 'What Happens On The Track, Stays On The Track. Keep It Off The Road' Adelaide 500 road safety campaign is deterring irresponsible driving on our roads.

The State Government encourages everyone to enjoy Australia’s largest domestic ticketed motorsport event but to leave the racing to the professionals - on Adelaide’s renowned street circuit.
