The bus-staches are back this Movember!

Thursday, 10 November 2022

Almost 100 buses, trams, trains and marine safety boats are sporting impressive moustaches for this year’s Movember in support of men’s health.

Adelaide Metro and its service providers, and the Department’s Marine Safety team have once again teamed up with the Movember Foundation to raise awareness for the cause and prompt South Australians to ask ‘how’s your bro?’

This year, the largest ever fleet of moustached vehicles and boats will roll out across metropolitan Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, surrounding regions and waterways.

Can you spot all the mos? There are 60 buses, 22 trains, 10 trams and four boats to find.

Keep an eye out for some very well-groomed trams, dapper buses, trains and vessels that have had a furry facelift and post a photo to social media with the hashtag #AdelaideMetMo or #MarineMo.

Remember to stay on the footpath or platform behind the line when taking photos and always wear a lifejacket when boating.

Unlike some of the moustaches seen on public transport and boats throughout November, mental health struggles are not always easily seen.

Whether you sport the Rock Star, the Trucker, the Connoisseur or even a fake mo, the Movember initiative is far bigger than a fashion statement. The campaign is a leading charity changing the face of men’s health by tackling prostate cancer, mental health and suicide prevention through various fundraising initiatives.

Since 2003, the Movember movement has spread around the world and has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects. It encourages people to reach out to their mates and ask them how they are travelling and to really listen to them.
