No fee for replacement licence for SA victims of Optus hack

Tuesday, 27 September 2022

The State Government will waive the usual replacement fee for South Australians requiring a new driver’s licence as a result of the recent Optus data breach.

Any South Australians affected by the Optus data breach who have been advised they should change their driver’s licence number can do so by attending a Service SA Centre.

Please bring with you any information you may have received from Optus on the matter.

The standard $20 replacement fee will be waived for customers requiring a replacement licence as a result of the Optus data breach.

Optus customers who have already paid a fee for a replacement licence can apply in person at their Service SA for a refund.

Once your licence number has been changed, a new driver licence card will be produced and posted to you.

Your new licence will also be immediately available digitally through your mySAGOV account and on the mySAGOV app.

If you have a mySAGOV account it is recommended you set up two-factor authentication to further protect your personal information.
