HARBORS AND NAVIGATION ACT 1993

SOUTH AUSTRALIA –WALLAROO – POINT HUGHES – BREAKWATER CONSTRUCTION

Mariners are advised that construction rock armoured breakwater is underway in the vicinity of Point Hughes which is approximately 1 nautical mile WSW of the interface of the Port of Wallaroo main jetty and the shore.

This breakwater will be proceeding seaward in a direction of approximately 320° (T) for approximately 500 meters. The breakwater will then continue at right angles to the initial direction on a bearing of approximately 050° (T) for a distance of approximately 150 meters. The area for construction will be marked with lit yellow buoys with the following flashing sequence Fl.Y.4s 1M at the following locations:

1.         33° 56.060' S            137° 36.466' E

2.         33° 56.074' S            137° 36.449' E

3.         33° 55.918' S            137° 36.224' E

4.         33° 55.919' S            137° 36.280' E

5.         33° 55.822' S            137° 36.321' E

6.         33° 55.847' S            137° 36.356' E

The construction is expected to continue until December 2022.

Mariners are advised to exercise caution when navigating in this area.
